The Green Mountain Chapter is proud of its volunteers and the work they do throughout southern Vermont in responding to emergencies in their communities. This winter alone they have responded to single family fires and other disasters in Wethersfield, Brattleboro, East Dorset, Halifax, Bennington, Pownal, and Arlington. Their work has provided dozens of local residents with emergency food, shelter, and clothing in those intitial frightening hours following a disaster. If you would like to be there to care for a neighbor or friend in need, a few hours of response training will allow you to be a member of the Disaster Action Team in your hometown, ready to roll at the first call for help. New teams are currently being formed in all communities. To find out more, click on the volunteer link at the bottom of the page or call (802) 254-2377 in Brattleboro or (802) 442-9458 in Bennington.
